This website is the source of information for the 2007-2008 exchange between Marguerite (from Colombes, France) and Sadie (from Denver, USA). Thank you to En Famille International for arranging the exchange. The exchange began in late August 2007 with Marguerite coming to the States for six months to live with Sadie's family in Denver. On March 3 Sadie went to France for the second half of the exchange, to live with Marguerite's family. Check back often for updates!

L'échange a commencé dans le défunt août 2007 par Marguerite venant aux états pendant six mois pour vivre avec la famille de Sadie à Denver. Sadie et Marguerite ont écrit cela aux États-Unis
Sarah became Sadie again tonight when she walked through the “International Arrivals” gate at the airport.
She said the staff on the airplane were all confused about what nationality she was and whether she spoke English or French…they knew she was American but clearly struggled with English!
Everyone is so happy to be all together again. Sadie is speaking a lot of French with us, but it doesn’t even matter if most of us can’t understand her, we’re so happy to have her home. She tries English but it’s slow and she has a strong accent! We’ll enjoy it for now as we know in a few days it will be gone. It doesn’t bother her either, she’s all smiles.

Sarah est devenue Sadie à nouveau ce soir quand elle a passé par la porte des “arrivées internationales” à l’aéroport.
Elle a dit que le personnel de l’avion ont tous été confus à propos de quelle nationalité elle était et si elle parlait anglais ou français … ils savait qu’elle était américaine mais c’etait clair qu’elle a difficulté avec l’anglais!
Tout le monde est tellement content d’être ensemble. Sadie parle beaucoup de français avec nous, mais il n’a pas d’importance, même si la plupart d’entre nous ne peut pas comprendre, nous sommes si heureux de l’avoir avec nous. Elle essaie anglais, mais il est lent et elle a un accent fort! Nous l’en profiter pour l’instant, nous savons que dans quelques jours, il aura disparu. Il ne la dérange non plus, elle est tout sourire.
Un grand merci à En Famille Internationale, aux Demoures, et en particulier à Marguerite pour cette incroyable expérience.

Après moultes péripéties, nous arrivons à l’aéroport : l’avion est à l’heure. Le chagrin n’est pas loin mais les bonbons et les jeux sont un bon remède ! Sarah a été courageuse jusqu’au bout : la perspective de faire de la calligraphie dans l’avion et surtout celle de retrouver les siens l’aident sans aucun doute.
After a long journey, we arrive at the airport: the plane is on time. The sorrow is not far off, but candy and games are a good remedy! Sarah was courageous to the end: the prospect of doing calligraphy on the plane and especially to find her own again doubtless helped her.
